So I only have a few weeks left to start my "hobby" sharpening knives. i am newbie Tried whetstones, whetstones, diamond whetstones. All of them work, but to a certain extent. All of them can turn your knife from blunt to sharp. I wanted more so I tried leather dressing (just a small piece of leather). My god, just smoothing your skin will take you to the next level; "Sharp as a razor." So I wanted more. I tried these pastes on my leather belt. OMG I tried #4000 and #50000 they will take you to a whole new level; scalpel sharp. I know these diamond pastes have infinitely more uses than just sharpening knives. I can't comment on other apps, but the knife sharpener sharpens your blades to an unimaginable level. The only advice; Please be careful. Your knives will become "extremely” sharp. You don't want to have a nasty accident with a knife or other sharp tool. Enjoy!
