Of course I didn't use it with pressure most of the time. I've used it freehand (simply because I could), but at some point it's wise to use it the way it's meant to be used, with the appropriate pressure on the caliper piston when turning. It's a bit slower, but doesn't slip out of the slots as much :) Also, the last few millimeters of internal travel require piston pressure if you want it to be pushed all the way in. (And you do if you want a smooth install.) Get this kit. It's a great addition to your do-it-yourself toolbox. You can thank me later :)
