For the price it can certainly beat other skimmers that are much more expensive. No assembly required except rubber suction pads and air pump (not included). Suction cups hold, but stink. My saltwater fish (15) have experienced this smell before and it didn't bother them at all. I simply bleached rubber stockings for an hour before putting them on and washed them with rdo water. The Bubble Cup is also easy to clean. If it fills up completely in less than 8 hours, your air pump may be too powerful, or your water is very dirty, or both. Simply adjust the air control valve so that very little water is poured into the cup along with the bubbles. You only need dirt bubbles in the collection cup. Dirty water that has settled in the cup can be washed off with a turkey syringe. The instructions on the packaging are written in Chinese, but that's not a problem for me. I put it in the tank with the water level about 1/4" from the bottom of the mug. Only 9 days in use and the rubber suction tube broke. One star down. I did not return this item and glued the suction tube back in. The price of the mug just went up to $20 before I backordered a second one.
