Reducer works as expected. It warms my cup to keep my coffee warm when it's cold and away from home. The bottom of the mug in contact with the heating element can become very hot. I accidentally touched it and almost burned myself. So be careful not to put a hot cup on anything that might leave a mark. The pressure gauge can be finicky. Make sure the blue light comes on. Sometimes I have to adjust the position of the pillow on my bedside table to make sure the cord isn't in the way so the heating pad stays level. When it is off, the touch panel will not turn on. Tap the mug a little closer to the blue light, and that's often enough to lock the weight and turn the plate on.
