UPDATE: This seller has contacted me multiple times to *remove* my honest review. in exchange for Revain gift cards, first for $20 and now for $30! It's not going to happen. Maybe I would do *something* for $100,000 gift cards, but even then I'd *update* this just to show my good fortune. but I would not delete or change any of the original honest reviews. Is the seller really taking bribes to cover up a bad review? And Revane, seriously, why are these types of vendors and activities allowed? ----- Original Review ----- This thing just entertained my cat. Suction power: moderate at best at high, very weak at low. Collects dust and hair, nothing more. I sprinkled some sunflower seeds that aren't that big. He managed to pick up a few, but mostly he put them on the floor. Volume: Not loud, but not quiet either. Just enough to be annoying, to be in the same room and still be audible from two rooms farther. Intelligence: No consequences as far as I can tell. It "disappeared" under my dining table and chairs for about half an hour. In and out, back and forth. Lots of action, but I finally had to "free him" or he would probably still be there. And even after walking the same area over and over for half an hour, I still found crumbs, dust, dirt and hair under the table! Mapping: There wasn't much I could say. He appeared to have short-term memory, but it seemed to restart every time he was disconnected from the charger. It seemed so. If it has an attribution, I couldn't understand its logic. Return to Base/Load: No, it doesn't make sense. If I manually guided it within a foot or two of the base and then hit the return button on the remote, about 3/4 of the time it would recognize the base and dock itself. In 1981 that would have been very cool. Never worked remotely. Never seen him even try to do it alone. Left alone, it simply dies on its way. Capacity: It has a very small dust container that fills up with dust and hair quickly. And since there doesn't seem to be a loss of suction or a bowl-full warning or a subsequent auto-stop, it happily carries on with a full bowl and no suction, doing nothing but stirring up the floor. Terrain: Definitely not for rugs or rugs, no matter what they say. I have several small, very thin rugs. One has a surrounding rim and a non-slip bottom. The vacuum cleaner bumped into it, sometimes deciding it was an obstacle, and sometimes bumping through the pipeline. In the latter case, he rolls up the carpet and THEN steps back from the obstacle. My other rug is just as thin but has no edges and is non-slip. The vacuum cleaner rolls over it and then lets the mat roll in front of the wheels until finally deciding it's an obstacle. I have a 1/8 inch window sill between my hardwood and tile floors. He usually perceives this as the Great Wall and retreats from it. carpet and then cannot work on the carpet because it is very shaggy. No logic. Fun Factor: My cat thought it was a cat meow. I found it amusing (for a few minutes) to watch a cat chasing a cat toy. The dog was completely indifferent and completely disinterested. Seriously, this is the epitome of you get what you pay for. and I didn't pay much. Would I buy it again? no May I recommend it? no I will return it? Yes!
