This test assumes you want to connect a DVI monitor to a DisplayPort video card, not a DVI video card to a DisplayPort monitor, as that is my current configuration. I recently got a new graphics card that only had a DVI. output, one HDMI output and three Displayport outputs. Because of the nature of my work, I have three screens. Two DVI compatible and one HDMI only. I needed to get my third screen back and this is what allows me to hooking up a DVI to DisplayPort monitor to my graphics card with no issues as it was as it was supposed to be all along. The picture is as good as any other DVI picture and it's as simple as plugging both ends into the appropriate connectors. There are also no problems with the screen type recognition. The cable feels solid in my hands and the DVI side of the cable is very thick and wide. The DisplayPort side of the cable also looks well made. Would recommend especially if you are on a tight budget like I was at the time of purchase. I even bought two more for other projects.
