ETA 06/30/21: Sweet Pea likes to hide in her room during this historic warming dome. I love this scratching post. Functional and sturdy, it matches my salted oak furniture so it doesn't irritate the eyes as much as some others. The faux wood paneling gives it a more sterile and utilitarian vibe than some of the others, which look like someone turned a poodle into a Dr. Seuss topography. Some cats might find this less appealing, but mine seems to prefer harder surfaces (like countertops, grr!). It should also be noted that the upper basket is not wide enough for a medium-sized adult cat to stretch out in it, but "warm up" is perfect for this. these beans. Overall, unpacking and assembly took less than an hour. As you can probably see, my little Sweet Pea operated under the perfectly understandable misconception that the couch was her scratching post. Time will tell if retraining her brain helps her, but at least she immediately decided it would fit like a throne. I will update accordingly.
