Review on Dexter-Russell 18023P Outdoors Purple Handle Pizza Cutter: 4-Inch Efficient Slicing Tool by Johnny Nguyen

Update 12/24/2018: I still love this pizza cutter! I've used it almost every day since the day I posted this review and yes that means I've cleaned it just as often and there has been absolutely no rust or other issues so far. I can avoid rust because I make sure it's completely dry after cleaning (which isn't hard at all). The only reason I mention this is because I see other people reporting problems with their rust and as I suspected it is because they don't make sure they are completely dry when they finish cleaning are. I bought a Dexter Russell P177A to replace a KitchenAid pizza wheel (https://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-KC113OHOBA-Pizza-Wheel-Black/dp/B000W7FGFA). I have had a KitchenAid pizza cutter for many years, maybe 10 or more. The only reason I replace a KitchenAid pizza wheel is because water gets into the handle because it's in three parts. It has one part for the blade holder and finger guard, another for the main part of the handle, and then a third part for the large silver logo area. So water gets to where the main body meets the blade holder and finger guard part, which is very difficult to avoid, and it also gets to where the main body meets the silver logo part if I decide to clean the entire handle. I'm totally fed up with this! Otherwise, I am very satisfied. Even today it still looks good for its age. If the handle was waterproof or one piece I wouldn't be tempted to replace it. One-piece handle, very similar to this Dexter Russel pizza cutter, as well as several others that are very similar. (some look the same) There are 5 reasons I chose the Dexter Russel P177A over all the others I've found: 1. Made in the USA2. He has the best ratings. Due to the perfect tight and hygienic fit of the blade on the handle4, it is NSF-certified. It features Dexter Russell's patented precision ground high carbon stainless steel blade. No other manufacturer makes such claims about their blade.5. It features high quality, durable stainless steel discs. The KitchenAid pizza wheel comes with either plastic or nylon discs and when I accidentally dropped it the discs broke immediately rendering the pizza cutter completely unusable. That night I had to cut pizza with a knife. All the other pizza cutters I've been able to find here at Revain have these cheap plastic or nylon discs. Those that have steel or metal discs have way too many bad reviews! I have used my new Dexter Russell pizza cutter and am very happy with it. If I had known such pizza cutters existed, I would have replaced my KitchenAid pizza wheel a long time ago. It's a crappy pizza cutter compared to this Dexter Russell pizza cutter. I will never be surprised when I see a pizzeria using this pizza cutter. Everything just screams "the best”, from the comfortable grip to the size of the wheel, the cutting ability of the wheel and the strength of the structure thanks to the use of strong steel discs. The blade is also extremely sharp and very hard for amazing cutting performance. I also like that the blade doesn't reflect like a mirror. Instead, it looks like a precision-cut circular saw blade, which you can see in some photos of this pizza cutter. The good thing about this for me is that I no longer have to deal with the blade reflecting my bright light directly into my eyes when I lay it on its side. So, I think I had 3 things I hated about my KitchenAid pizza wheel: the three-piece handle design, fragile pucks, and a blade that throws my bright lights right into my eyes when I lay it on its side. I also find that the smaller KitchenAid blade size (3 inches) also results in reduced productivity and cutting speed. Everything about this Dexter Russell pizza cutter is so much better and I'm so glad I bought it.
