My phone is bigger than everyone else when unfolded. A standard car holder will not suffice. I saw this and decided to give it a try. Suction held up well. until this happened. Even with glue to hold it on the dash, it won't stay. I had a stronger vent clip from another phone holder and didn't use it there in place of the dashboard as requested. A major improvement would be more positioning options. In many places it is against the law to have anything that blocks your field of vision while driving. That being said, the lower seat profile that allows for this item is great, but I like using it on my phone for recording and background GPS. This owner does not allow this.
