This is one of the most comfortable task chairs I've ever sat on; Despite any padding, the material and shape is much more acceptable than it looks and I sat for several hours with no worries. Unfortunately I may have to sit for hours as less than four months later the plastic retaining brace on the piston broke exposing the lift arm. So when it's not under pressure - the weight of the person sitting in the seat - the piston fires. out of its sleeve, causing the chair to become unbalanced and having to reinsert the piston if pressure is applied before reinserting it. In addition, the lifting and lowering mechanism no longer works, so the chair is always at its maximum height. I don't think it can be fixed other than replacing the entire pneumatic assembly. Having spent nearly $200 on what I consider to be a quality chair, the short lifespan is unacceptable. Maybe you have better luck.
