I am a termite inspector who has made dozens of dry rot probes starting with sawed off paint roller handles. I finally started epoxy gluing metal stamps into the paint extensions to get into the hard to reach places. This probe looks like a paint roller handle, but the metal is slightly thicker and feels more durable than most paint rollers. The handle is a lot heavier than I expected and almost impossible to break. I also appreciate being able to unscrew the sharp tip. The only downside is that I like Purdy Power Lock Sticks for their durability. The prober has a common thread that is not compatible with Purdy Quick Connect threads but should be compatible with most common threaded rods including many pin lock rods which tend to be less durable. Overall it's good value for money and worth telling my friends in the trade about it. Seller should consider a second version with a 16"-18" shank for sub-zone inspection. Most screwdrivers of this length bend too easily or are too heavy. The closest comparable tool for this would be a Vaco 20 inch Phillips screwdriver, which is hard to come by.
