Review on πŸ“± Wireless Data Module: AutoMeter 6035 OBD-II with Bluetooth for Apple iOS Devices - Dashlink by Luis Despain

Lots of data but not perfect

Used with iPhone 7+ on a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. Bought to be able to monitor voltage, oil pressure, fuel consumption data and read codes if needed. Previously I worked as a full-time mechanic, so I have experience with code readers and diagnostics. This thing can do a lot, but it's not organized or simplified for the average user. No instructions other than initial installation. Google will be your friend. Pros - Nice display - Fuel economy data is useful on long journeys - Extensive customization options - Lots of data Cons - The first connection is confusing. If that doesn't work, try both with the engine off and running. You still have to enter a lot of information about the vehicle manually. One of the options I wanted to pursue is not showing up. The oil pressure on my Jeep and my wife's Grand Cherokee is not showing. I'm not sure if this is a specific make/model issue but it's still quite annoying. - Reconnect every time you restart the car, don't leave it on for quick city trips. - A lot of data. I would see where anyone would be stunned. - Does not show what gear you are in on automatic transmission. Again, this could be a manufacturer/model issue. Price. For what I wanted and what I got I don't feel it was worth it. I know there are more expensive Jeep options, but for the most part, OBD II is universal. I don't quite understand why so much data is available, but there aren't things as simple as current gear and oil pressure.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Has imperfections
