I loved my Litter Genie Plus and figured the bigger the merrier! With 4 cats I was hoping that the XL size would save time and reduce waste from tying the bag up a lot. Unfortunately I was wrong. Here's why I can't recommend size XL 🔸 The device I bought in December 2018 is very different from what's shown in the listing and customer photos. It appears to have been redesigned and the changes I've noticed are: 1. The bottom access hole has been removed. This means that the filled bag has to be pulled out and removed upwards. Branded Refills. The universal cartridges that worked great with my Litter Genie Plus will not fit the XL (forget trying to get it to work as the lid won't close. My experience of trying to get half to 2/3 of one Removing a full pouch has shown Not only is it VERY HARD, it was awkward and pathetic trying to lift the pouch up and out because the lumps inside the pouch kept sticking to the ledges in the unit (see images). seems to acknowledge the weight issue and they included a recommendation to use light bulking which I would never have bought had I known so went back to check the list but didn't see it anywhere on the Revain list.XL might be right for some people but it's definitely not a good fit for me.
