Review on πŸ’₯ ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 2070 AMP Extreme: High-performance Graphics Card with 8GB GDDR6, RGB LED, Metal Wrap Backplate - ZT-T20700B-10P by Tim Wheeler

Great computers and tablets with GPU

Noise/Temperature The Zotac 2070 Amp Extreme has been running cool (65 max) for a few days now, mostly silent. You can tell it's well built. The card is a bit long and the sag was causing fan noise, so I used an UpHere GPU spacer to straighten it out. After that, fan noise dropped to normal idle/gaming limits, but there's still a slight click as the card cools down. I suspect that slowing down the fans creates a wobble that is likely causing the fan blades to touch the heatsink. Not that bad, barely audible, but I hope it doesn't get worse. There is no coil noise on the RM650X, which is excellent. I would send it back immediately if it had spool for a while. The Unigine Extreme benchmark score was 3022, which is impressive for out-of-the-box performance. I've looked for other benchmarks of the 2070's and they mostly hit around 2800 without overclocking. Gaming at 1080p is a breeze for this guy, and contrary to some reviews I've read, RTX without DLSS still gave me 55+ fps, which is normal for single-player (BFV). DLSS would give me more fps, but don't give up if 55+ fps is all you want. Overall impression I would still buy a GTX 1080 if the price is right. But in general I'm very happy with the purchase, if it doesn't break then I'll leave it to myself. Yes, fan noise can get worse, but honestly, what card doesn't? It's coil whine that's a deal breaker, and at least this sound is free of it. I've enjoyed playing with this card and the fact that it doesn't make me want to go back to my quiet RX580 I'd say it's worth the upgrade.
