By DeathAdder Elite. ambi because most if not all of the reviews have been positive and it has one of the highest overall scores on RTINGS along with DeathAdder v2, Viper, Glorious, XM1 etc. So I was thrilled and had pretty high expectations of this mouse, most are fulfilled by it. However, TL; The DR is I returned it for another mouse. I'll start with the CONS that led to the return, then list the PROS for those who still want to consider this mouse. DISADVANTAGES ** Scroll wheel (-1 star): The scroll wheel has a horizontal stroke, which I confirmed directly to ROCCAT via a support ticket as a manufacturing tolerance problem. In fact, the scroll wheel can move to the left during gameplay. When this happens, the scroll wheel click becomes harder to activate until you "click" it back in by sliding it to the right, where the scroll wheel click returns to normal. That surprised me because I didn't see it. The problem is reported in reviews, but if you google "Roccat Burst Pro Scroll Wheel", lo and behold, many others have reported this problem. And since ROCCAT has confirmed that the issue is manufacturing related, the chances of getting a mouse with this issue are high, so their only recommendation was to return it. That doesn't mean 100% of mice are affected, but the chances of getting a perfect specimen are pretty slim. I don't know about you but I don't want to order 3 of these to get it right. If the issue doesn't bother you, great, but it can affect games like Apex that make heavy use of scroll wheel clicking. * Ergonomics (-1 star): A bit inconsistent here, but this mouse is actually quite comfortable for both hands. Draft. However, the indulgence of DAE really goes to show that Ambi mice can't be as comfortable as right-handed mice, no matter how you rotate them. Compared to the Pwnage Ultra Ergo and Glorious Model D, this was the most uncomfortable and cramped my pinky a bit. But not bad for an Ambi mouse either. ADVANTAGES - The white finish is excellent. Doesn't feel dirty in use, doesn't leave fingerprints, unlike the black version I've seen which is a dirt magnet. - The build quality is EXCELLENT. This is a brick, nothing creaks, does not bend, nothing. Therefore, a bitter taste remains in the mouth when the scroll wheel fails on an almost perfectly designed mouse. The sensor is good BUT nothing special compared to the sensors of other mice (e.g. with sensors from DAE and also against 3389 in Pwnage Ultra). The old sensor from the Glorious Model D isn't far behind either, so this is more of a neutral moment. - Subjectively, but I especially like the way it looks. with RGB. One of the prettiest lightweights out there and pretty cool that it's made of honeycomb but has no holes. Weight and glide are excellent. My second lightweight after the CM MM711 and you can click on it quite comfortably and quickly on the mouse pad. No complaints about the cable either, it's fairly light, not the best but quite high. - Key clicks: Initially tight, but only takes a few days to get used to and then quite pleasant. and crispyTLDR #2: The reason I'm so disappointed is because this mouse does so many things so well: top-notch sensor, amazing coverage, nice cable and glide, amazing build quality. So I absolutely hate bringing back what could be an endgame mouse just because you have to play on the scroll wheel. If ROCCAT ever releases a v2 or releases a statement that the scroll wheel issue will be permanently fixed in future installments, this is easily a top 5 star mouse. In the current form, however, this is not the case. If you don't think the scroll wheel will bother you like I described, I'd say yes, buy this mouse, especially. if you need a good WHITE mouse. What I traded it in for: #1 - Pwnage Ultra Custom Wired - brought that back too, ROCCAT was better except Pwnage didn't have scroll wheel play and was also a bit more ergonomic. #2 - Beautiful Model D - WINNER (for now). I left this one here because great ergonomics, nice size, high performance despite the slightly older sensor, no scroll wheel game. Has a slight body curve but is still worth the daily ride.
