I used to have a saddle stool, but I moved to Panama and couldn't take it with me because I just didn't have the space. I liked this stool because it didn't hurt my back and let me sit up straight while sewing. I tried again to use a regular chair, but it was impossible. So I had to order another one. I'm not a light woman, so I thought maybe I should gain some weight. I've never had a problem with another, but the more the merrier, right? In my case this is not the case. The seat is so wide that it is uncomfortable to push your foot forward to use the pedal. But the seat itself is comfortable. My other stool was much smaller but still fit my size 20 perfectly. I was at my weight limit but never had any problems. Much more than that and maybe you prefer this stool. Also, I get up and down a lot as sewing forces me to go to the iron and then back to my machine. That was another reason I liked the saddle stool. Since I didn't have a back, I just sat on it and pulled it front to front with one hand, and I quickly settled into a comfortable position. That's not possible with this stool because the front is thick and I have to use two hands to make sure I'm sitting and getting into the right position. Not really a big deal, just a fact and my preference. And finally, the elevator is at the back and it's hard for me to get there. I'm 5'6", but I'm not the most flexible for my age. Probably because I sew most of the day. :-). Removing and replacing isn't difficult, but keep this in mind when measuring your size change frequently.This is a large,durable,comfortable stool that will work for some people but not for me.If that's what you're looking for in Panama...I've got it.
