This product should not be placed on the bottom of an electric oven as advertised. The instructions say to put it on the bottom shelf of the oven. Therefore, it occupies a shelf that can be used for baking. If placed on the bottom of the oven, it is not heat resistant. It is only heat resistant when placed on the bottom shelf. The quality is good, but it smells the first time you use it. I recommend placing the mat in an empty oven on the bottom shelf and turning the oven on at 350 for 20 minutes. That way, the smell doesn't penetrate everything that's being baked. Once done, there is no odor for future baking. Prior to this purchase I had oven mats that could be used on the bottom of the oven, air under the electric heating element, or on a flat surface if there is no electric heating element. I can't find these mats online. Two stars because of the above.
