I was glad to get the Spider Grip can opener but soon found that it almost never cuts all the way around the can. It worked correctly twice out of 20+ attempts, so the error rate is over 90%. There's almost always a thin piece of metal connecting the lid to the can that can't be cut off, right where you first started cutting. So I have to break off the lid, leaving a sharp point on the jar and risking injury in the process. I threw away the opener so I can't go back but wanted to warn the others. There has to be a better design somewhere.
