Review on 🧀 Efficient Cheese Grating with the ZYLISS Classic Rotary Cheese Grater by Nikita Sweet

Works well and beats the alternative

I've been grating cheese with a regular grater for many years. It always hurt, so I usually just bought pre-shredded parmesan. No longer! What I like about this machine: - Comes with a "thin" screen drum. Some other graters sell multiple drums. I was fine with a drum because I usually want my cheese to be finely grated. If you want a bigger drum I don't think I would buy this item. I can't find the "course" drum on Amazon. The handle is comfortable. I have no problem grating 3-4 bowls of cheese for people (nor am I a big tough guy). - The lever that holds the cheese works well. The counter fits into the drum, allowing you to grate almost all of your cheese before problems arise (see below). - Easy to clean. Simply turn the knob counter-clockwise while holding the drum and it will pop out in no time. The drums then slide out. Just put everything in the dishwasher. Easy. Holds a large piece of cheese. What to look out for: You have to press the lever mechanism very hard with your left thumb or you'll find the drum just spins and pushes the cheese up. BUT - I don't find it particularly impractical. - When approaching the end of a piece of cheese, it may slip through the gap between the drum and the main body. That means you can't grate everything. PRO TIP: Because of that last point, I like to cut out triangles. Place the triangle tip up. That way you don't end up with a long piece of grated cheese. Just a small chip. Then just throw that piece on top of what you're eating. In addition, the grater fits into a regular sandwich zipper. So if you don't feel like cleaning your grater every day, you can put it in there and put it in the fridge with the cheese and all.
