This item replaces the water pad in the humidification system. According to the packaging it is compatible with: Aprilaire 112, 136, 224, 440, 445, 445A, 448 Chippewa 224, 225, 226 Walton 600, 620, 660 I ordered this item from Todays Concept. The product image at the time showed an A12W Aprilaire water bag replacement box. And the name of the item back then was "RPS #A12W Aprilaire112 Water Pad" but the resulting item was a regular A12, not an A12W. The item image has since been updated to show an image of the water mat itself instead of the packaging. But the item name is still "#A12W" at the time of this review. Also, the item's description is a little sketchy during review, including 'features' unrelated to the replacement water pad including: 1-DuraGuard antimicrobial vinyl. with molded wooden core 2-Stylish design complements your bathroom decor 3-Fits all standard manufacturer's round bowls The resulting article (#A12) is actually made up of layers of expanded metal (see [.]) possibly coated with a white substance vinyl or teflon are (hard to say). The difference from A12W is that A12W is often made of foamed plastic and covered with an absorbent material such as paper or cloth fibers. The absorbent material helps distribute the water, giving it more surface area to evaporate and helping to minimize water loss. Keep in mind that if they haven't changed inventory, you might get A12 and not A12W.
