When I learned that microfiber towels are a petroleum-based product that contributes to the plastic pollution of our waterways, I set out to find an eco-friendly substitute. The bamboo placemats sold by Rosie Mae are just about perfect! After drying, they perfectly absorb moisture and completely clean the glass and mirror without using sprays or other detergents. Like tea towels, they have great gripping power and remove food residue and grease, again without the need for detergents. They wash well and don't have a musty sponge or microfiber smell between washes. Once soaked in water, they will leave some water on the countertop even after a hard spin, which is to be expected for a natural fiber. I am very happy with these wipes and appreciate that I am using a product that is eco-friendly and biodegradable.
