The fabric is stiff like all new kits but is slowly getting smoother. The thread isn't the best I've worked with, but more than adequate. This is such a good option for those of us who are no longer interested in intricate designs and constant counting. I've completed so many projects that were doomed to fail by a single miscalculation. Very frustrating. Thanks to the abstract design of this product and the printed fabric, "drawing" with thread is fun again. I like that the fabric is an 11 weight because it's much quicker to work with. And with a printed background, you don't have to worry about white or light beige fabric showing through and your stitches feeling tight. I am so excited to be making cross stitches again. This is very reassuring, especially when you don't have to be so specific.
