Works Immediately Noticeable Improvements

I installed this on a 2005 GMC Sierra 5.3L Flex Extended Cab, 147,000 miles. Standard tuning, standard tires, no lift. (Bone Stock) The first thing I will notice is a very noticeable increase in throttle noise when you press it down with your foot BUT under normal driving conditions the difference is very small (sound). Sounds like the old 4-barrel carburetors use noise (remember the quad?). Second, there was a drastic increase in throttle response. I actually have to think about going lighter on starts, first I would chirp the tires on corners (never done it). I also have more settings at lower revs than before. Don't miss it, understand, there's no significant increase in performance, it's just faster, it moves faster and has more power. I attribute that to better airflow rather than a big jump in power/torque. Thirdly I have noticed an increase in MPG, I am RELIGIOUS about MPG tracking, I do it in great detail because I drive so much and I was trying to find a way to improve mileage wherever I could, I'd save the gas, I'd try all the different brands of gas. I would even look for better tires for lower rolling resistance (they all helped btw). My air filter was dirty so I didn't get a better MPG or even the same MPG as when the air filter was first installed. With a dirty air filter I got about 16 mpg, I drive like in the city so on highway, on the highway I drive 75 (65 mpg net is much better for me). With a clean stock air filter I got a very consistent 18 mpg. On windy days my MPG drops by 1 or 2 on the freeway, I pay close attention to that. I should mention that I have an aftermarket unit that monitors MPG in real-time. It also monitors other parameters like intake air temp, pressure, fuel economy, etc. Now I'm getting 19.5mpg and that's at 75+. On the Autobahn I'll tweak things and double check everything I've done in the past to get the best I can say (knowing my truck) I'll be able to do over 20 mpg in this thing I bet I'd be 22 in the dead of winter. (Correct tire air, better gas, less aggressive driving) As far as the product goes, everything was fine for the most part, the guide was very poor to say the least, but if you're straight are a little versed in it, then everything will be fine. . The parts were mostly fine, the holes on the box didn't line up exactly but were fairly close together. With a little push and pull, you'll line everything up just enough to install the screws without modifying it. My truck has never been damaged and the engine compartment is in excellent condition, no rust, grease or dirt, degreased and steam cleaned. All of my old components came out with hand tools. So the fit issues were the result of poor product tolerances. The metal cover is thin metal over thin plastic with a thin foam backing. The flexible hose to MAS adapter is made out of cheap thin rubber. The rest of the parts seemed good though. I will update this at some point, I wanted to come up with something as at the time of writing this review there was only one review of this version on Revain.
