I think I should be grateful that I lost my Surface Pro charging cable. It was bulky and consisted of two parts: a 120 VAC pigtail and a transformer unit with a DC cord. I ended up with another power cord that worked but was 6 feet long (compared to the original which was less than a foot long). This one is more compact, comes in one piece instead of two, and comes with a handy carry case. I read another review that criticized the weak pins on the fork. But I've found that it's the other way around. This is one of the safest folding pin sets I have. I have a few chargers that aren't that important. Also, the old brick was pretty hot. This one works cooler, if not cool. But the Surface Pro does consume power, so that shouldn't come as a surprise.
