Excellent product, highly recommend this antenna

I had doubts about this antenna before buying it. Turns out this is one of my best purchases! At a flea market I bought a Yamaha AV receiver model RX-V371 for my garage cave. I live in the city (Saint Paul, Minneapolis) and unfortunately I can't connect to my favorite AM station, WCCO 830, to listen to Minnesota Twins baseball games. The signal is strong in my area, but there was so much noise and interference in my garage that I could barely hear the station. I hooked up one of those cheap standard loop antennas, but it didn't help. I connected 2 wires from the Kaito antenna to the back of the Yamaha receiver, one wire to the external AM antenna connector, the other wire to the terrestrial connector. I had to move the antenna to a position where I could hear the improved signal/sound. This is important for finding the right position, in my case it was about 2 feet from the receiver. The signal was ok, but still not very good. I then adjusted the tuning knob on the antenna and amazingly all the clutter and noise was gone and now I have near perfect reception. It also improved radio station loudness/volume. I couldn't believe it worked so well so I'm very satisfied.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • Without automation

Enhancement tool for commercial AM (530 - 1700 kHz). May or may not work with your radio..
