I bought a 2018 FX HO Cruiser a few weeks ago and managed to fold the back seat down and damage the seat latch so I bought that. I could not do this work without modification. The mounting method is with a metal rod sticking into the central hole which snaps under the mushroom shaped metal part that is part of the chassis. Pull the handle and the bar will recede and the seat will no longer be held by the mushroom thing. The problem was that the metal rod didn't protrude into the center hole enough to hold the mushroom. I couldn't get the seat to really engage and stay down. Comparing this new locking block to my broken block, it became clear that the two devices are very similar, but not identical. Small differences in angles and tolerances were the difference. I ended up having to take a wood chisel and work in about three different areas of the plastic until I could get the rod into the hole as far as needed and really snap it into place. It works now, but I've spent the better part of an hour making modifications, and I'm a little concerned that I may have made it weaker by removing some of the plastic to make it more prone to failure. Just take a look.
