Just got back from the Apple Store after bringing my daughter's 5 month old 16" Macbook Pro because the retina display was broken. My daughter needs this computer for a remote school, and I was willing to give Apple hell for breaking a $2,300 five month old computer. Until the technician showed me the crack in the screen right next to that camera cover! He told me the crack was because that the laptop was closed with the lid closed. So if you have an old laptop with a frame around the screen, feel free to use it. But attaching it directly to a glass panel on newer models is a disaster, that can happen. I can only hope it's covered under warranty!
