Review on Vicks Humidity Monitor Moisture Levels by Christian Bennett

We bought 4 of these to track down a long term mold problem on our floor registers that required cleaning, replacement, repair and air duct resizing. Taken together, their readings aren't identical, but instead cover a range of around 5 percent, which is fine with us. We have 2900 square meters. ft., 3BR, 4BR, heat pump and three propane heat sources for backup in case of power outage. We have had monitors for 2 months as we move into spring. We spread and moved them widely, noting that the humidity varied by about 10% from the highest to the lowest range. The tallest was in the bedroom furthest from the bathroom and kitchen, with two floor registers! Humidity was close to 60% most of the time and is best kept at around 55% or less when the air conditioning is set at 1 cycle per hour (our Honeywell thermostat defaults to 3 CPH). The monitors have been a great purchase and help us deal with moisture issues. We hope that now we can stop mold growth during humid summers and regularly monitor the humidity levels in the house. Anyone with mold problems should have several of these.
