Review on 🏍️ RAM Mounts Motorcycle Fork Stem Ball Base with B Size 1" Ball for Stems 12mm-38mm Diameter - Enhanced SEO by Thong Lopez

The base of the phone holder is rotated. NOT GOOD

Installed on my 2017 R Nine T Racer. The problem I had was neither understanding the engineering behind it nor assembling and tightening it. The problem occurs after the fastener has been PROPERLY installed and tightened to the point where the bolt cannot be tightened (this indicates that the nut's washer is tight on the nut - if your bolt is not tightened, have the washer underloaded the nut, which is an installation error and another problem). The mount is very secure against upward movement - meaning it will likely never pop out of the stem bore, which is great! However, the ball head also rotates when fully tightened. I tried my best to pull it out and it didn't move, but the top was still spinning. The system does not have the ability to apply pressure to force the base firmly against the top of the shank hole, only to apply outward pressure against the wall of the shank hole to hold the base in place. So it's held as tight as you initially push it, which can never provide the torque needed to keep the top from rotating. This is a BIG problem - after all, your phone can turn in any direction and interfere with sensors, controls, keys, steering wheel lock when parking, etc. - So no, the phone doesn't fly away when you hit a bump, it just rotates to squint or upside down etc. I don't know about other riders, but I have several bikes with different base mounts for my Ram -X mount and I adjust the position of my phone to individual needs. any bike. So the fact that this mount can rotate doesn't allow me a stable rig that I can rely on, not great - a big disappointment. Perhaps a rubber washer between Part B (upper ball joint) and the top of the bike's stem hole would help, but I haven't tried it. Another reviewer 3D printed a similar idea and it seems to have worked for him. Ram should study his design! YOU'RE WELCOME! Too bad, it seems like a little more engineering would have made this mount perfect. I will say that the reviewer who suggests this is just a bug or a misunderstanding of the simple technique is wrong. Even when fully tightened and properly installed with moderate pressure, the fastener will rotate. PERIOD.
