Bought a couple of months ago a novelty from the company Continental. All the time I preferred only studded tires, I thought that with front-wheel drive and frequent trips on snowy icy roads, they are still more efficient. But the downside is that you can’t put them in early, the spikes wear out quickly. And since winter comes unexpectedly, and it’s a pity to kill spikes, I decided to buy a friction tire for the off-season as well. After driving about 5t. km. I realized that I was wrong, there are non-studded tires that work 100%, in my case it is VikingContact7. Excellent road holding, almost noiseless (comfort also plays an important role). All the bumps swallows, road joints, small holes. Efficient braking, even on ice, which surprised me a lot, ABS practically does not work during hard braking. Confidently enters into turns, even at good speeds. For reading the directional tread pattern, it does not work badly on slush, I think it will not notice puddles either. In general, I was not disappointed in my choice, I bought it for a reason, the tires are worth the money. I no longer want to put my old studded tires on, Viking7 suits me completely, I will continue to test. I advise everyone who has not yet decided on the choice.
