Do not boil water in this kettle without leaving the rubber stopper on the spout. The first time I used it, I boiled the water and hot water poured out of the spout into the kitchen! I was so lucky that the dogs were on the other side of the house and didn't get burned. When the lid is lifted to relieve the pressure of the boiling water inside, not enough pressure is released, resulting in more pressure to force the water out of the spout. It's not because I overcrowded it (running follow-up tests to find out what went wrong). That's because the water has boiled. To be honest, pouring boiling water over coffee grounds is usually too hot. So I use this kettle with a little gummy thing on the end that should be safely thrown away after unpacking, and I always catch it before it boils. Don't leave him unattended.
