The people who built my house, cabin and barns didn't know much about how to make things, but that never stopped them from building things. The power has been out in my large shed for years and we converted part of it into our new chicken coop so it's time to plug it in. I ran the conduit underground thinking I could use some of the old wiring and jigs in there, but the wire was held in place by bent nails and either pinched the wires or cut into the insulation...or both. As a former electrician in a past life, I learned the importance of using the right things to work with electricity...like clamps that hammer in to hold the wire and not pinch it. They're about as good as they get, but the price will be better if you buy a bigger box, but my job isn't that big and I don't need to keep an extra few hundred for the next job, they look good like a no-brainer but B I spent a lot of time in my previous life trying to find an open in the romex power lines only to finally find out that the problem was a bracket that was twisted at such an angle that it shorted out the connection . If you're using a sleeved cable, remember that it's plastic and tap it gently with a hammer.
