The leak-proof part of the straw is easy to chew and swallow
This straw has silicone on one end with an X-shaped hole to prevent spills. However, I was horrified to realize that my child had bitten off some of the pieces making the hole and must have swallowed them. She likes to "chew" straws when drinking. I would only recommend these straws if you cut off the moisture proof end of the straw, which is easy to do. Then you lose the "Leak Protectionโ benefit.
