Review on ๐Ÿšฃ Intex Explorer K2 Kayak: 2-Person Inflatable Kayak Set Including Aluminum Oars and High Output Air Pump by William Byrd

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Turned out to be a great buy. So comfortable!

We are experienced kayakers who make it difficult for others to sit on top and in kayaks. That was our first inflatable boat. For the price of admission we made a great purchase. We use it on vacation so we don't have to drive our expensive kayaks hundreds or thousands of miles in a car and worry about them being stolen when we go camping. We've used our Intex Explorer on the ocean inlets of Murrels Inlet, SC and it's great for that. Flat water with little current. Our limit is 1 1/2 to 2 hours before we feel cramped and need a break to disembark the yak. I am 6 feet and my wife is 5 feet 8 inches. This kayak is a little short for two people our size, but anything significantly longer costs a lot more money, so let's get it right. The Explorer K2 performs well when using the included skeg and proper paddling technique. If we row hard and fast at the same time, it moves very straight and fast enough. When releasing and stopping the row, it drifts and the rear end starts to wobble a bit. Not so hot what's up. The materials used appear to be quite durable for the price. The only thing we would really like to change is the inflation valves on the base and front and rear front and rear covers, which leave a lot to be desired. These are cheap little transparent flapper valves used in inflatable pool toys. Other side inflation valves are good valves that won't let air escape when you pull out the air pump after inflation. Again, based on the price, we realize they had to cut corners somewhere, and they did. But overall it's amazing value for money. We completed setting up and inflating with the included pump in 10-12 minutes and deflating is even quicker. As we use Intex more and more, we may eventually switch to a longer (e.g. 12-13ft) inflatable kayak. If Intex made one, we would buy it today. So if you are looking for a comfortable kayak that you can take anywhere (comes with your own bag) and you want a low price, the Explorer K2 is a great choice! Hi!
