I've had this product for a month now and it's great. Outstanding performance, consistently hot water and significant energy savings. I installed it myself and have a few tips: Make sure you use a #6 electrical cord, this is the recommended and safe gauge cord. You will need three wires and a 60 amp switch. For water pipes. You don't need a hot water hose. You just need to connect the home water pipes to the water heater using pressure fittings (which come with the water heater). Make sure that after you have everything installed BUT before you turn on the power to the water heater, you turn off all hot and cold faucets in the house to purge all air from the pipes. THEN feed it electricity. After that, you will be amazed by its performance. My only concern is how long will this water heater last without problems? Anything over 2 years is acceptable to me. Under 2 years will be very disappointing. So I will update you in time to update you on its performance. And if you're in doubt as to whether this water heater is right for your entire home, the answer is yes. Its heating capacity is more than adequate for any average home, unless you have a massive home with 3 or more bathrooms and expect 3 or more people to bathe or shower at the same time. FIRST UPDATE: WOW, my first utility bill came and I saved $33 compared to the previous month. Nothing has changed in my home from the previous billing cycle to the current cycle. At this rate, the return on investment takes around 6 months, which is VERY IMPRESSIVE! SECOND UPDATE (DECEMBER 9, 2013) It has been 14 months since I installed this water heater and it works great and has paid for itself in energy savings. one. This product is worth every penny. I hope it stays that way for many years to come.
