I've never liked the standard neck strap Canon ships with their cameras; It's made of a rough nylon that's irritating on the back of your neck, especially when you've got a heavy lens attached to your camera. Tired of the original straps, I decided to find a good alternative. Initially, I found OP/TECH ports to attach my camera to my backpack straps. You are a great problem solver. With them, the weight of the camera becomes completely unimportant. However, this product is a solution for short trips that do not require a backpack. Unlike Canon's collar, this product is made of a much softer material that won't hurt your neck. To be honest I think they could be a bit more comfortable but they are ok. They come with traditional OP/TECH connectors that plug directly into the camera loops. Now I have an easy and convenient way to use the camera with a neck strap or with a backpack for long trips.
