This paper is thick and beautiful. The description says "canvas" which is actually not the case. This is high quality paper, all black. You can paint on both sides and won't get wet. It comes in a rubberized cushion with smooth perforated snap frame edges. (I would suggest having a utility knife handy to keep the edges clean. I painted the compositions based on my Saddlehorn series with a white acrylic marker (Tavolozza) on both sides. I prefer the effect on the front (second photo).) because when you fold it, there are holes in the "backside" so you can stick it on a nail and it will sit on the wall like a mini gallery film. In the first photo you can see the "back side" effect. Here it is, and a utility knife is handy little protrusions and slots into which they are inserted. My corners look very rough because I was experimenting and had a little trouble understanding this. I painted the top edges gray with acrylic. I'm not blown away by my ability on this site, but it gives you an idea I made another sketch from the "Saddlehorn Series" in white acrylic, but I'd like a photo or other small graphic on this one attach side. You can draw "frame" sections on one or both sides. I recommend doing this before tapping it out of the pad. Masking and painting is easier when it's flat. Folding the "frame" requires a little thought and experimentation, but it's not difficult. Origami (winks) is very well designed and works perfectly if you're careful when stamping. This product appeals to all performance levels. The youngest artists need help folding the frame, but the result is very light and beautiful. They will look great in a hallway or small room. The side I call "back" is perfect for the fridge door. A glued-on magnet keeps it energized. I look forward to experimenting with this innovative product.
