Review on YoLink Wireless Compatible Detector Included by Richard Dean

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very impressed on day one!

I'll update this review if things really take a turn for the worse, but my first experience with this thing is PERFECT! I wanted some water leak detectors for my well pump and laundry room. My number one goal was not just to be alerted, but to take action in the event of a leak. I have a TP-Link light switch that controls a contactor that turns my 240V sump pump on and off so we can turn off the sump pump when we're on vacation. If we had a burst pipe that would be the only way to keep our house from flooding and I have a pipe that I'm really concerned about because it goes into the basement. 1 inch diameter main line. So I wanted some kind of flood protection guarantee. It took me about 2 minutes to connect the hub to the iPhone app and make sure it was working. Then I added 2 water sensors, each took about 15 seconds apart from naming. Very smooth. What I haven't figured out yet That's why the SMS notification is greyed out. I can live without but would like to set it up for a while. minutes I created my applets. If - YoLink leak sensor (laundry) is triggered Then - Turn off Kasa TP-Link water pump switch I put the sensor down, spilled some water nearby, and as soon as the water went under the sensor, it flashed, I received a notification that the Sensor detected water and IFTTT sent me a notification that it ran the applet. I checked my TP-Link switch and indeed my water pump was off. Here's what I'm gonna tell you. It doesn't get much better. My only fear is that eventually it will become another faulty hub causing problems with a firmware update or whatever, but if the hub keeps doing its job and these sensors last at least a year or two on their batteries and always work , then I'll consider this one of my favorite smart home integrations I've ever had! Thank you JoLink! Do not let me down!
