Unfortunately I got around to testing this FALSE! I have two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports on this new Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master (5800X/64GB). Copying from a Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus PCIe 4 x4 (7000+ Mbit/s read) to a SATA II (3 Gbit/s) drive in this enclosure shows easy connectivity and a SATA I (NOT SATA II) 1.5 Gbit /s throughput. The drive delivers 140 Mb/s write speed test results on a true SATA II or III bus. No wonder only SATA I write speeds are achieved with this scam. Because THIS IS NOT SATA III AT ALL! Since SATA III is only 6Gb/s, I'm not expecting the full USB 3.2 Gen 2 speed of 10Gb/s. But I expect SATA II speeds from a SATA II drive, but in this case I only get half of that. My WD Elements USB 3.0 drive on the same ports shows a 6 Gb/s connection. Vantec Tech Support has made up a lot of lies, but the proof is in the pudding. CrystalMark reads at 78.86 MB/s (630 Mb/s) and 71.37 MB/s (570 Mb/s). THIS MAXIMUM, WITHOUT A FAN, RIDES AT 60 DEGREE CELSIUS IN THIS CASE IS IDLE. DO NOT BUY THESE CASES! VANTEC LIE!
