The advantage is that it comes with mounting screws and accommodates a 2.5 inch drive. But the design is not well thought out and builds the drive too deep into the case. When I customize a 2.5" drive to mount in a 3.5" bay, the bracket should mimic a 3.5" drive. In other words, the 2.5-inch drive is centered when installed in the adapter. Since a 2.5" drive is physically shorter than a 3.5" drive, this makes routing cables more difficult. If you imagine most factory made computers, the ends of the power cable are connected in series and shorted between two stacked drives. If all drives are identical, the power cable from drive to drive connects neatly vertically down the row with very little slack or play. Now trying to use this adapter to connect the 2.5" drive to other existing 3.5" drives and somehow the power cord had to bend horizontally into the hole where the 2.5 -Inch drive located to connect it with the diet. It then has to bend down to get to the nearest 3.5-inch drive, and the spacing between the ports is too small. All the designer of this adapter had to do was design the adapter so that the 2.5" power cables and SATA cables run vertically. aligned where they would be if it was a 3.5 inch drive.
