Great product but lousy screws and no instructions so be careful

Installed just outside the top rail. It gets 4 stars for a basically good product. TIPS: 1. Buy some zinc plated screws for outdoor use, otherwise use your own high quality screws. 2. Do not screw it in until you have aligned the two pieces and inserted the mounting screws to connect and secure them. A photo). I even pre-drilled a hole in softwood and hand-tightened it with moderate torque. It shouldn't have interfered with those screws, but the top part came loose immediately. (I was able to pry it out with pliers.) Then I found that those screws weren't electroplated, so I dug around and found deck screws that I used instead. This issue has been resolved. There are no instructions (see photo) but the process seemed fairly simple at first. Screw in the bottom, insert the top, and screw in the top. Oops. There are two mounting screws connecting the two parts. I probably should have guessed this beforehand, but there weren't any pictures or instructions to shake my brain. Now I had both parts bolted on, both on top of each other, but the center holes didn't line up and I couldn't get the mounting bolts in; they got into the inner tubes and that was it. So I dug around and found two short machine thread bolts that at least acted as anchors. Maybe one day I'll come back and drill a hole in the metal and put the originals in there. In the meantime, I'll cover the screw heads that are still protruding so they don't scratch my kayak. The work, which should have taken about 20 minutes, took an hour and a half. Manufacturer: Please post instructions here. Only a few simple steps would have prevented this. And upgrade your screws to a higher quality and more galvanized one - for indoor and outdoor use. Don't assume that people know how to do an reverse osmosis plumbing, or even if they REALLY have a lot of experience (like me) that they don't need a cold-weather clogged head reminder (like I did). . ) or just don't do these things all the time.
