Well the litmus test showed that it really works with water from my fridge and filtered water from the sink. it didn't work at all with the bottled water I bought. Bottled water was an alarming 5.0 and Wand didn't change it. My tap water is an amazing 8.0. But filtering unfortunately reduces it to six. The stick resets it to 8.0. More importantly, I register a 6.0 (by language) for not drinking this water. And I register 7.5 if I drink several glasses a day. So, I'm done with bottled water! By the way, the water is delicious. I didn't find it made a huge difference in flavor and I liked how it changed it.
