Review on Sargent Art Premium Coloring Pencils, 52 Assorted Colors & Metallics Pack - 22-7294 by Kim Sanchez

For coloring these are the worst colored pencils I know. The lead is hard, the pigment is dull, and almost impossible to blend and layer, no matter how much pressure you apply. However, I believe that all art objects have their place, so I decided to find one for them. I do mixed media illustrations, usually in watercolor, then with pencils or soft crayons. Graphite sketches smear my latest work, while watercolors and erasable crayons smudge and make it impossible for me to see the design I started with. I have found that these Sargent pencils do not rub off or wash out with water. I used them for drawing line art. My sketch lines fade and remain. I can see everything I wrote during the drawing process. When I'm ready, Sargent's lines are easy to cover up with mascara or something like Prismacolor. Also, on their behalf, I would like to say that Sargent pencils are quite durable. Haven't seen a broken one yet.
