It took me a year to get this knife and these things can get expensive! I think regular cleaners are around $10 or more and not that easy to use. Also, other cleaners are heavy, so using them for more than one thing is tiring. I can use this to peel a whole bag of potatoes and it doesn't hurt my wrist (although I still don't like peeling potatoes). Don't waste your money on other peelers. This type of cleaner works a lot easier than other cleaners I've used and is always a lot cheaper. Sometimes you can get them for $5 or even less depending on where you shop. Good buy. The one I have has been running for over a year now and doesn't look like it will need replacing for very long. Worst case, if after a few years it starts to lose its sharpness, I might just buy another one for less than $5.
