Review on πŸš— Enhanced Performance Brake Kit - Power Stop KOE4044 Autospecialty Front and Rear Replacement with OE Brake Rotors & Ceramic Brake Pads by Flex Graham

The contents of the box were wrong and there was no customer service

I bought this set and it arrived quickly. When I opened the Revain box it had 2 smaller boxes, one with the front kit and one with the back kit. I happened to notice that each of the two boxes was opened and sealed, but that's okay. Inside each of these two boxes were 3 even smaller boxes - 1 box with pads and 1 box for each rotor. I happened to notice that each of the revolving boxes was also open, but that's okay. There were also no instructions with anything, namely the burglary procedure, but I accidentally stumbled across this later on the internet. This is where the fun begins. I have disassembled the front brakes on the van and will remove the front brake discs from the box. First thing I notice is that the rotors that came in the box with the front pads are not vented, they are solid (as the rear rotor should be). The part number on the rotor box says JBR990. So I go to another box with the rear and lower pads and lo and behold they are also unvented rotors (like for the rear ones) but the rotor part number says JBR926. So far I've made sure the front brake pads are exactly the same as those on my van, but I'm not sure about the rear ones yet. OK, now I'm confused. Well I'm going to Revain to see if I can identify the rotors and verify their installation. No luck as everything from Powerstop is sold as a kit and only has a kit part number. So next I call the car specialist (maker of Powerstop) and call a lady from accounting. After 3 attempts she cannot connect me to anyone from the support team. So I left someone a voice message, I don't remember who. FYI, 3 days later no one called me back from Autospecialty. So at this point I go to google and end up being able to verify that none of the rotors in the box fit on the front of my van. I then called Revain who was very understanding and told me I could use the front pads and return any remaining parts for a partial refund. I end up using new front pads but buying front rotors locally. Getting to the rear I was able to verify that the new rear pads really matched the old rear pads, so I used those and bought the rear rotors locally. Now I've found on Google that the JBR990 part was supposed to be for the back of my van but in fact they weren't and fitted my old rotor exactly and I could never get Autospecialty to call me back to discuss this - therefore I bought back on the spot. So, after everything is all set up and working fine with Powerstop pads and rotors from my local parts store, I call Revain to work out the part credit. Turns out they couldn't pick up the rotors since it was a kit, but they refunded me $135 plus a month of free refills - and I get to keep the rotors. I think it seems fair but it was definitely a PITA and I ended up spending a total of $300 on parts (although I'm stuck with 4 rotors). I really regret not buying the ACDelco parts I had on my wish list before I saw this kit which I could have bought for $220. parts available. As for Autospecialty, as far as I can tell they don't have after sales service so good luck with any warranty. I'm sure I'll be replacing these pads sooner or later, but we'll see. As for Revain, they hardly got it right, but they did more than Autospecialty. I recommend using ACDelco parts. I have had very good results with them in the past.
