I bought this router hoping to use it when traveling to create a local secure network of hotel WiFi networks. This feature doesn't work once you figure out how to set it up (not trivial as the online FAQs are incomplete and the instructions are missing an important step before you can even see the option). Also, it fails to route as a 3g/4g broadband router after a few minutes, usually because the cellular modem (UML290 in this case) has a signal strength of 84% according to CTR35, but I can't access the internet. Basically this is a big disappointment compared to other Cradlepoint products. There's no way I'm going to drop the brand, but beware of those cheap CTR35 units. They don't look like their more upscale and expensive cousins(love my 2 MBR1000, 2 PHS300 and my CTR500). It just seems like this device was pushed out the door before it was finished. I think these problems are probably solvable programmatically, but I can't wait. I just use my MBR1000 and a powerful WiFi bridge to get the hotel internet access for the MBR1000. Really a shame, it's a great piece of hardware. For testing I used the latest firmware, 3.2.2 from 6/6. /2011.I am returning my device for a full refund.
