I'm a 5'10" tall male with an athletic build and after reading some of the reviews I thought these shields were very small. I ended up buying the XL because I wasn't sure if it was unisex and how sizing would work and if I did it again I would end up buying the large, the main thing is that the hand straps are a bit large, but the knee and elbow pads fit relatively well. However as pads they work very well and I've had a few drops/slips on the blades and still not scratched them once thanks to them!I love the fact that they have sleeves that wrap completely around your member so you don't scratch even if you don't have a hard insole.
