Review on Sony Full Frame Large Aperture Ultra Wide Angle by Joe Bottomkent

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This lens is phenomenally sharp even wide open.

Sharp at f/1.8. There's a little coma around the edges, but you'll have to look closely at the pixel to see it. I don't like the distortion of anything shorter than 20mm, and 24mm is just too wide. This lens, especially when corrected in LR in a post. Landscape, astrophotography, long exposure, it does it all. The colors are bright. The contrast is pleasing. Just get it. If you're not getting phenomenal results with this thing, then you're not getting the right lens. Tested on Sony A7iii and A7riii. Yes, it is solved perfectly on both. The bridges were filmed on A7iii and the sunrise and Milky Way were filmed on A7riii.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Incredible sharpness! I love it. The only downside is the price.
