At first, I was one of the few customers who was dissatisfied with their purchase of these headphones and could not fathom the reason for the universal acclaim they received. Where can I find this reference studio sound that seemingly everyone else hears but I do not? I was displeased with the purchase and was at a loss as to what to do with them until I heard the sound coming from the tin. There was no equalizer option that could help; the mids were awful. Yet, the fact that the majority of the reviews were still good made it unlikely that there was something wrong with this situation. And I started to Google other people's experiences with the product until I found a review on the irecommend website. There, a man who was angry about the fact that something of this "quality" costs so much money decided to time how long the speakers could play at their highest volume before they were fully depleted of their power. It had been almost seven hours, and most crucially, one of the unintended consequences of his experiment was that after that he heard a sound that was quite different. Headphones that have been "warmed up," if you will. I had no idea that there was such a thing as "warming up the headphones," so I decided to conduct some research on the internet to figure out how to do it properly and then give it a shot on my own. In the best case scenario, warming up in-ear headphones should involve listening to specialized white noise at a volume of 75% for approximately 12 hours. I spent the night listening to the track that contained the sounds that I detected. And when I listened the next day, I heard an entirely new set of mids! The sound drastically altered, as though it had been refined, and new nuances became audible. It is interesting to note that about warming up, it was also noted that it was pointless to do this for the purpose of reinforcing headphones, but the result was clear anyway. In my situation, warming up was of great assistance. If you find yourself in a position like this one, resist the urge to immediately become furious and dash off to return the headphones; instead, make an effort to warm them up.
