Review on ๐Ÿ” Aftermarket Cushion Pads Liner Set for Bell Sweep Helmet with Extra Replacement Pads by Marcus Zimmerly

Revainrating 4 out of 5

An inexpensive way to renew the lining of a bicycle helmet.

Excellent option to update your helmet liner. My helmet is a little dated and Bell no longer sells replacement pads. They're too new (and expensive) to replace, so I was happy to find this aftermarket option. Despite the description, the pads are generic rather than unique to a specific helmet model. So that is the source of my only complaint. The front pickguard was too short to match the original. Not a big issue and it hasn't caused any problems so far. However, the rest of the pads that run along the top ribs of the helmet are of a similar shape but much wider than the original. So the resulting fit isn't as clean as it could be. The rest of the pads are circles which my helmet never had. As such, they can be used to adjust the fit if you have specific concerns. A pleasant surprise was the addition of additional Velcro straps. I didn't realize I'd lost two of these from my helmet since the last time I changed the liner. That way I could use two of these to replace the missing ones. Like new. Gaskets come in a variety of thicknesses, so be sure to order the ones you need. I tried these thicker pads to see if they wicked sweat better than OEM pads. The pads got significantly thicker, to the point where I had to adjust the tether straps. It hasn't caused any problems and seems to absorb sweat better than the originals. The surface material isn't as soft as the originals, but overall they seem to hold up better and I haven't noticed any difference in comfort. so far. I'm very glad I found this option to update my helmet liner.
